Overview

As of R1.4, we've been using a GUI to configure our wireless networking. We use connman and connman-gnome to configure wireless networking.

Procedure for connecting to a secured network

  1. Select the networking icon from the bar. Select the network you'd like to connect to. In this case, I'm connecting to Buglabs AE, which is WPA/TKIP encrypted. You can see the "locked" icon next to the network name.

  3. The resulting window will allow you to put in your password information and preferences for saving this information.

  5. To get the GUI keyboard, be sure to select the "Show Input" box and click in the text area.

  7. Type in your password:

  9. Hit OK:

  11. You should see the animation for connecting to the network:

  13. When you've been assigned an IP, you'll see that you are connected.

    Nuances

    Hidden SSID's

Our version of connman is fairly old so it has some issues. Namely, hidden ESSID networks will not show in the GUI. You'll likely want to try Configuring WiFi Module from SSH connection in this case.

    Mistyped passwords

Connman saves network information on the BUG rootfs in

    /var/lib/connman/

If you'd like to erase this information, you'll have to find another way of getting BUG Command line access and remove these files. Reboot, and you should be allowed to attempt to connect again.
